Set in 75 acres of natural beauty Vila Sol is composed of golf courses,Pestana Vila Sol Championship and Pestana Vila Sol Academy Golf Course. This was the first course designed by English golf architect Donald Steel in Portugal. The natural undulating terrain of the area was preserved, as were the variations of level, which resulted in superb views from the 4th, 5th, and 6th tees, as well as the elevated tee on the 13th hole. The beautiful flora provides a natural hazard, punishing inaccurate shots in the rough. The course is professionally maintained at all times. Vila Sol presents a superb challenge to middle handicap golfers. The course has an excellent driving range which is landscaped with rolling contours and trees.
Championship Course (Holes 1-18, Prime + Challenge)
Currently with start point at tee one, the course is planned to give all visitors who come to play at Vila Sol Golf in the Algarve a course where the preservation of the natural environment is sharply in mind. The scenario consists of a pine, almond and fig trees, plants, flowers, lakes and streams, which all add to the pleasure and challenge of completing 72 strokes at this championship golf course, making the experience unforgettable from first to last shot.
Academy Course (Holes 19-27, Prestige)
This is a full length 9 hole golf course of 2937m, encompassing tee 19-27. If you just want to play 9 holes, or for those who want a faster start and short game, this is the course to try. It is also suited for a major golf training session allowing play with a professional in a golf course setting.
