UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club offers a top quality golf course and a welcoming club house, nestled in the Mugello hills in the municipality of Scarperia, not far from Florence.
Opened in 1992, this 18 hole par 73 Championship course of 6,468 meters, is one of the finest in Italy. Designed by architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and by golfer Baldovino Dassù, it was built to USGA standards.
The Golf Course, set in the Mugello valley, sheltered by Apennines, offers 5 different starting tees for an exciting game for all levels.
Upon opening in 1992, Poggio dei Medici was acknowledged as the “Best New Golf Course” and since then has constantly figured among the best courses in Italy in the Il Mondo del Golf ratings. Recently it was selected as the “Best Golf Club” on the “Condè Nast Traveller” hot list, outplaying courses like the K Club in Ireland and Greenbrier in the United States.
Poggio dei Medici Golf Club includes an extensive Driving Range complete with Pitching and Putting Greens, bunkers, 6 covered and 24 opened positions, PGA instructor available for private or team lessons. Buggies, trolleys and golf bags are available for rent. Caddies on request. The Course is open all the year round, seven days a week.

Una Poggio dei Medici has hosted international golf competitions including five Italian Women’s Opens as part of the European LPGA Tour (winners: 1999 Samantha Head, UK; 2000 Sophie Gustafson, Sweden; 2001 Paula Marti, Spain; 2002 Iben Tinning, Denmark; 2003 Ludivine Kreutz, France.); one Alps Tour Open (2007); and three European Challenge Tour Opens (2010, 2011 and 2013).
