Comments & Reviews: Golf Courses and Golf Holidays

A Few Comments from our Clients...

Golf holiday to Costa del Sol, Spain
Overall a great trip, a couple of comments:
The golf course on the Friday, Santa Clara had closed for food/drink at 8pm, we were still on the course and didn't finish playing until 8.45. I had a few words with the club pro and he eventually found somebody to re-open the bar so least we could get a drink but the golf course should have said when we were teeing off that the bar closed at 8pm and we could have made arrangements to buy food half way around. We hadn't eaten since 7.30am that morning so we were not happy.
Santa Clara course was ok, fairways were not great but the other 3 courses [La Quinta, Atalaya Old, Torrequebrada Golf] were excellent.
Hotel [Senator Marbella Spa] excellent
Transport very good and accommodating when we got delayed on the Friday.
In future we need to allow 6.5 hours after the 1st Tee off time to be collected, each round of golf is over 5 hours and the 4 tee-off is about 30 mins after the first time.
Thanks, already looking forward to next year :-)

Golf at Las Americas, Tenerife
Yes holiday was great thanks, Las Americas is a beautiful course, enjoyed my games there. Course conditions were perfect each day, with some stunning scenery to suit on the way round. (the wildlife wasn't too bad either)
Thanks again for your assistance.
Kind Regards

I will contact you again next time I go to Portugal
Have a Nice weekend

Golf at Tecina, La Gomera
Absolutely stunning!
I play a lot of courses in Europe I have played the best course in Spain but for me this course is definitely number one. The condition was good.
I will definitely play it again.

Golf in Portugal
It all went smoothly as always. Van hire was smooth and quick.
Regarding the courses:
Royal Obidos- - In Brilliant condition, amazing views from the glass fronted restaurant/bar looking over the course and sea. Hotel there looks like it is up and running. They now do a shuttle service so you can get picked up at villa. This place is and will be a gem
Bom Successo - obviously have money issues. All work has stopped on the hotel and not many golfers there. Course is still in good nick. Has some brilliant holes especially the 17th and 18th.
Praia [del Rey]- great facillities, great course, in great nick. One downside is its always busy and play is excruciatingly slow.
Thanks as always Jim. It may be a change of plan next year as my friend who owns the villa we stay at is selling up, but we will be back to you with other ideas.
Best wishes

Golf Holiday to Vincci Buenavista and Buenavista Golf, Tenerife
Thanks for arranging an excellent trip. Would like to repeat at same time next if available.
PS: A new stretch of the TF-1 has just opened between Adeje and Santiago del Tiede so you might want to update your helpful directions

Golf Holiday to Playa Las Americas, Tenerife
Just a quick note to thank you for organising a great trip.
The whole week went to plan and the bus company guys were superb.
The only downside was the condition of Amarilla course. 3 greens unplayable and couple of fairways very poor.
Overall though a great time had by all.
Look forward to doing it again next year.
Thanks again

Costa del Sol Golf Break
Just got back from our holiday friday night, the holiday went very well although the weather wasn't at its best, but all rounds of golf [at San Roque Old & New and Valderrama] were played & thoroughly enjoyed, as for the [Senator Marbella Spa] hotel, it was a very nice hotel, I would recommend it to people. Also we'll be back for future golf holiday, curious do you do trips to America which would include going to the US Masters (possibly in 2016)

Golf Break in Sintra, Portugal
I’ would like to say that the holiday was very good, the [Penha Longa Golf Resort] hotel was fantastic, the [Penha Longa, Quinta da Marinha, Oitavos Dunes] golf courses very beautiful ( except the wind ... but I didn’t book for it),
and everything was ok.
Best Regards

4 Nights in Cascais, Portugal
We like to thank you for your assistance of our golf trip in Cascais! We really had a lovely time out there. Nice hotel [Vila Gale Cascais], very comfortable bus/car, excellent golf courses [Oitavos Dunes, Penha Longa, Quinta da Marinha, Praia del Rey] and the Portugeses were very kind!
One remark: we unfortunately could not finish the last round at Q Marinha. We started at 12 o'clock and finished at 16 o'clock (then we were only at hole 13) The course was fully booked and we had to be at the airport by 6. So that was a pity.
Nevertheless thanks again and hope to book with you in the near future!
Kind regards,
Marieke, Netherlands, March 2015

Excellent Service
Thank you very much for your excelent service. We´ll contact you again at the latest next spring.

Golf Break in Costa Brava
Feedback of our last trip which - despite the weather (rain, rain, rain, rain,....) - we enjoyed very much.
Golf : Stadium Course is real test. Long and interesting. Excellent greens. On tuesday we had the big boys from PGA flying from hole to hole in their chopper to inspect the holes for the Ryder Cup. Greenkeeper was probably still in his bed cause 5/6 greens were completely flooded and they kept the course open (probably for the big guys). We had 4 camera teams following us cause we were they only one playing...
Tour course 1000 yards shorter but very enjoyable.
They will have to spike up their level of service to get the Ryder Cup though... From reception desk to bar, to starters (inexistent - we had 24 people queueing on 1st tee on sunday), practice facilities,.... all very mediocre.
Hotel: Same goes for [Melia Golf Vichy Catalunya] hotel. Poor service. Rooms were big and ok but you can see that this place urgently needs some major refreshment / upgrading (I had rain dripping in my room at night). Breakfast was excellent but we opted to drive to Girona for dinner.
Restaurant: Based on reviews on tripadvisor I booked below restaurants in Girona (20 min drive from hotel) - both located in old centre.
* Llevataps : very good service and place has good vibe.basic spanish food. overall 8/10.
* Divinum : slightly more expensive (60 euro pp) but excellent, fine food. wonderful experience. highly recommended !
We go to Portugal in april / Bristol in may and then on world trip !
So we talk again in 2016 for hopefully a lot more golf and trips.
Best Regards.

Golf on Tecina, La Gomera
I thought you might like some feedback on the trip. Everything worked really well and it [Tecina Golf] is a truly wonderful golf course with views to treasure. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we'd like to do something similar in the future, but with a twist.
The one drawback to the day was the extremely tight timescale. We were off the ferry on time and drove straight to the course with just a short (5 minute) delay as we struggled to find the entrance. So we arrived at 10.50 and had to be on the tee - after a ten minute transfer by buggy - by 11.10. It was all a bit frenetic and spoiled the first couple of holes as we settled down from the 'will we/won't we make it on time trip'. Friends of ours had the same experience even with a local taxi. And when the round was completed, there was no time even for a quick drink as it was straight into the car to make the ferry - which we did comfortably enough. (The round took 4 1/2 hours which isn't bad for holiday golf - we've experienced 5 1/2 hour rounds on other courses.)
So is there an overnight option where one could play the course twice, staying at a local hotel or even B&B in Santiago? In addition to the second round on such a fabulous course it would provide the more relaxed timescale which was all that was missing this time.
One other thought: the course directions were a bit sketchy (one of our number had driven in La Gomera before so knew the way until the final few hundred yards). There were hardly any visible street names and it would have been far easier (for a newcomer) to follow signs to places.
We really enjoyed the trip so please don't file this under 'complaints'. Anything but.
Best

Groups' Golf Holiday to Costa Blanca
Many thanks for providing us with an excellent trip. All participants enjoyed it immensely and are already looking forward to our next trip. Some people enjoyed the hotel offering so much that they may book their family holiday at Hotel La Zenia next year. Our Golf trip takes place every 2 years but some may join together to plan a smaller trip and I will direct them to you if that is ok.
Many thanks again,
Richie, Ireland, October 2014

More Feedback from the above group...
Las Colinas was the best golf course and they are very professional in everything they do. Their Course Navigation system in the buggies was a valuable extra.
La Finca was also a very good course and Roda was enjoyable but not up to the same standard as La Finca.
The pace of the greens are a lot slower than what we are used to, but I guess they have to compensate for weather and traffic.
8 of us booked golf in Campomor on Thursday. It was awful. There was too many blind shots from the tee and the greens and tee boxes were in an awful state. Steer your customers well clear of this course.
When we return we will book Las Colinas and La Finca again and we heard good reports about Romero.
I hope this is useful feedback
Richie, Ireland, October 2014

Gran Canaria Golf Booking
Thank you for your efforts about reservations on Gran Canaria golf courses.
My impressions:
Meloneras: excellent- new course, buggies with GPS, fairways like carpet, nice pro shop with discounts, polite staff, good energy.
On greens they have different grass like we in Central Europe, greens are too slow. Anyway: +++++
El Cortijo: old court in middle of town Telde, on some holes dry conditions. +++--
Salobre North: fantastic court, beatiful nature, canyons, from top down and up.
But: old buggies, bad maintained, no signs or false lenghts. +++-- They have potential for 5 star!!
Salobre South: very nice court, I played by walking. Bad signalisation! ++++-
We have had good time for resonable price!!
Services on Gran Canaria are great, low prices of food, rent a car, technical goods (kameras….).
I recomend it!
Will recomend you company to my friends from Slovenia!!

Golf Holiday to Tenerife
Have just arrived back from the UK this morning. We had a fantastic time in Tenerife, golf was good although I throught Grand Canaria coursers were a little better. The Costa Adeje course was the best [of Costa Adeje, Amarilla, Las Americas] but far too long for the average golfer. They need to cut it back abit to suit the higher handicap golfers. We played an additional game on the Golf del Sur course and enjoyed that as well. The setting for the [H10 Costa Adeje] hotel was great although a little far from the main restuarants on the sea front, but we enjoyed the walks.
Many thanks for your assistance on the arrangerments and look forward to future holidays with you.
Kind regards

could not have being any better Hotel first class, best 5 golf courses we played collectively in 14 years going to Spain [Villamartin, Saurines, Roda, Hacienda Riquelme, Las Colinas]. Las Colinas Golf got 10 out of 10 for golf but 4 out of 10 for bar services , other wise everyone had all good things to say and had a excellent holiday.Thank you for all your hard work and see you next year

Costa Blanca Green Fees
Thanks for asking, we had a nice trip to Spain, the weather was good but a bit windy. Both courses was enjoyable to play. Las Colinas was a bit posh club, the standard all over was very high. The greens was of high standard and very fast, fairways was in good condition so the course was very good. We also enjoyed playing at La Finca, nice course layout and people. The course standard is not as high, fairways was fairly good, the greens was dressed and sandy so I guess they will be better later on this summer. I would like to play both courses again, but I think I enjoyed the La Finca course a bit more.

Mallorca Golf - Comments
We had a great time all transfers were on time and the [Sol Antillas Barbados] hotel was as always excellent.
The golf courses [Son Quint, Santa Ponsa, Andratx, Poniente] were good especially andratx.
However please bear in mind before you send anyone to Poniente as the fairways, bunkers and tees leave a lot to be desired. It's a shame because the course could be very good.
Many thanks for all your help and assistance in arranging our trip. We have used you for 4 years and would have no hesitation in using you again and would recommend you to anyone who wants a similar holiday.
Again many thanks.

Comments: Fuerteventura Golf
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation, especially the 3 rounds of golf that you organised for us. Both [Salinas and Fuerteventura] courses were in good condition having regard to the environment in which they operate. They both have well maintained fairways, although those at Fuerteventura Golf were a little lusher. There were plenty of bunkers as the off fairway parts of both courses were volcanic ash in part. The green were fairly quick and had been well irrigated.
All in all we had a good time and were well received in both club houses. Fuerteventura Golf club house is of a noteworthy standard.
Trust this helps and thanks once again.

Los Naranjos and La Quinta Golf
Yes we managed both tee times, but we postponed La Quinta for one hour – to have more time for lunch.
We had overall a very good day, but I must say, that Naranjos was the most enjoyable experience – the course was in better condition and the reception and staff seems more friendly to me, there we´ll for sure come back.

Gran Canaria Golf Holiday
great break. All ran very smoothly.
[H10 Playa Meloneras] Hotel excellent except very poorly signposted internally and layout unnecessarily complicated (e.g. difficult to find gents toilet around infinity pool area). Evening bar service around same pool bar pretty poor, we got up and walked out on last night. Rooms on ground floor, had view of a hedge, shame, you need to try to reserve ones at higher level if its not to reflect on you. Would have expected tea making facilities in a 5 star hotel.
All transfers great and good vehicles, [Anfi Tauro, Salobre and Meloneras] golf courses excellent although putting on the greens on Melonoras was like putting on your slow living room carpet. Would we go back? Probably not. Limited evening entertainment for a group of 55+ yo golfers. Bit like the trip to Majorca actually but better.
Thinking of Girona, maybe Marbella both of which we've done before for next year so put the thinking cap on.
Thanks for all your help.

Gran Canaria Golf - Comments
Our golf outing was outstanding! The club rental experience was smooth and the clubs were in great condition. Unfortunately, it makes me want to buy myself a new set of clubs! :-) The courses were fabulous and in great shape and was a great mix of courses to play. Meloneras was a pretty challenging up and down course with really nice obstacles (valleys, desert) to hit over and the back nine was so beautiful along the water. Day two playing Maspalomas was a nice break, because it was real flat and open which helped a lot so we didn’t lose many balls! :-) The best was finishing on Meloneras, because I dropped 10 strokes from my game on a tough course. Meloneras’ staff was so friendly and helpful and allowed us to basically tee-off whenever we were ready. Our tee-times were at 13:00, but both days we went out closer to 1130-1145am and the pace of play was very nice.
Thank you so much for all your help setting up our golf outing. It was great!

Tenerife Golf
Golf holiday was fantastic really enjoyed the break and the golf. the courses were in good condition had no qualms at all. Amarilla was a bit unorganised waited an hour longer than I should have to tee off apart from that really good.
Las Americas course was great as was all the staff, they were very helpful and well organised so much so we will be taking a group out next year so if you have any details for April or May 2015 would be interested to see offers on group bookings package.

Costa Brava Golf Break at Melia Vichy Catalan
The trip went very good! Thank you for that. The [PGA Catalunya] course was in perfect shape and the [Melia Vichy Catalan] hotel was also very good. Only minus is that there is a big road construction going on and finding to the resort from Barcelona direction was a bit challenging.
Thank you!

Golf Review, Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal
Just wanted to say that the trip last week to Vilamoura was excellent with almost perfect weather for golf - mid 70's and a very light breeze - and the apres golf was good without ever compromising the following days golf.
Generally speaking the courses were all good but the greens were a little worse than would normally be expected but perhaps this was the effects of the prolonged heavy rain the week before.
Specifically, even taking this into account have to say the greens on the O'Connor were poor (and this from a man who shot one over gross so no sour grapes) - very slow and bumpy - looked like they could do with a decent cut & roll.
Bit disappointed that the effective price at Victoria has gone up now they are not including the buggy but they did include a very thorough club cleaning afterwards (including grooves) where as the cleaning at Faldo was just a wipe with a damp cloth.
All of the golf courses made us feel very welcome and there is almost a proper range now at Vale do Lobo as they have taken down the large net you used to hit into - although it isnt very long and the balls are expensive @ 3 Euros for 20.
Plans for next year are already being discussed with thoughts on playing some courses twice to get two goes at some holes - as much as we like the facilities & welcome at Faldo / O'Connor with the extensive range & short game area, I think these might slip off the rota for next year with the universal favourites of Victoria & the Old Course already penned in for two rounds each!
Thanks for your help on the golf, and if you helped with the weather then thanks for that as well!!

Costa del Sol Holiday
Our holiday vent very well, even the weather was fantastic and sunny about 25 degrees. Atalaya Park-hotel was nice and the staff was very helpful, friendly and smiling. Atalaya golf club , both the New and the Old Course was very well taking care of, and has a very good standard. Alhaurin Golf and Lauro Golf is two of my favorite Course in Spain. I spoke to some Germans, they stayed in Alhaurin Hotel. They said the hotel opened every year to April 1.
Many thanks for our holiday

Monte da Quinta Golf Holiday Comments
The trip was great. The only golf issue was at Quinta da Lago. Because they have dug up the north course completely, the south course was busier and their fairways were in a poor state. The north course is due to be remodelled and ready for October, but they have a huge amount of work to do. They seem confident of opening in October, but we were all doubtful. In your place, you might like to be a bit wary ( or at least issue a warning) about taking bookings as soon as October on Quinta da Lago North. The rest of the golf [Vale do Lobo Ocean and Royal, Victoria, Old Course, Monte Rei] was really good, especially Monte Rei.
The new ownership at the [Monte da Quinta] club is a bit of a pain. I had to leave a 300 euro deposit on my credit card when we arrived to cover any payments at the hotel spa, but it was difficult to get it back when we left. Also the villas are only cleaned every other day now ( as opposed to every day ) and the shampoos are not replenished when finished, as they used to be. When I talked to the reception staff, they are all fed up with the new owners, who they say are trying to cut costs wherever they can.

The car was fine, but they took a really long time checking the car back in when we returned. They [Guerin] went over the car " with a microscope" looking for any new dents and took an age with the paperwork. There were no new dents, but it was a very different approach to all other car rentals that I have used. One thing that you might mention to other clients who use this car rental company is that unlike most of the others, you return the car to the airport with this one. No- one told us and they do have an off site depot, so you could mention this to others as well.
Hope this helps.

Costa del Sol Golf Holiday to Fuengirola
The Florida [Spa Hotel] was excellent as usual and so were the golf courses [Rio Real, El Paraiso, Torrequebrada] with the unfortunate exception of Almenara! Nothing like its close neighbour La Reserva. Would recommend you put people off going there. Otherwise it was a great holiday.

Barcelo Montecastillo Golf Holiday
Our golf holiday went excellent. The [Barcelo Montecastillo] hotel came up to our expectations.
Service was fine and food was delicious.
Also the [Montecastillo] golf course was nice to play. Only a couple of high hills was a little bit heavy to climb up.
Also the weather was favorable. Only one rainy day when we canceled golf and visited Cadiz.
I hope you will arrange a golf holiday for us also next year.
Best regards and thanks for you

Algarve Golf Holiday at Morgado Golf Hotel
I was planning on writing to you when we got home but... got busy with other things.
First of all I must let you know that my concerns on the hotel, food and service was totaly wrong.
The evening (aprox 23:00) we arrived we got a bag each with some snacks, a sandwich and some juice – appriciated that !
The next morning the manager called and wanted us to feel welcome and get in contact if anything was not OK. Good service !
The dinner buffet was nice with different meals and several choices every day. They served drinks at the table and was not a problem if you wanted more.
At the breakfast we got enough to eat, it is not easy to have different meals. We got boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon some sausages and fruits.
Youghurt, milk, cereals, bread, toast and so on – like any hotel breakfast. So that was also good and all OK.
During daytime we also had lunch a couple of times, as usual at a golf course not so much to choose but enough for us so nothing to complain about.
The service and the staff did a good job, with happy faces and good service.
The accomodation was perfect – we got room in a building just 100 meter from the reception and just 20 meter from the pool.
(unfortunately the weather did not invite us to swim every day – but it was clean and well kept)
Cleaning was done every day and perfect !
The [Morgado] courses was also well kept, but the first day it was raining so much so they closed the course, the second day we played .. in the rain !
After that we got nice weather and really good golf. The two courses nearby the hotel did very well meet our expectations as really good !!
(the Salgados golf course was even better with all super tees, fairways, bunkers, greens and a lot of water. A bit narrow on some holes but really good golfcourse!
As for the hotel and things to do during evenings – this was a place for golf and not anything for nightlife.
The guests was golfers and probably only golfers. Mostly groups and mostly a bit up in age.
But we were there to play golf every day and we did get exactly what we wanted and appriciated.
We had cars so we went on some trips in to towns in the area to see something more than the hotel.
I think that the area was intented to be a lot of hotelbuildings and restaurants and bars but it seems that it’s been on hold?
A couple of nearly finished buildings in the area!
All in all – We are very pleased with this golftrip ! Could easily choose the same place again.
Thank you for a good booking with a reasonable pricing and good communication.
Hope to contact you again for booking of a golf holiday.
Regards

Happy easter !!

Barcelo Montecastillo Golf Holiday
thank you for your competent organisation of our golf holiday at Montecastillo. We were completely satisfied with the hotel and golf course conditions - also due to the sunny early summer weather.

Algarve Golf Holiday
Trip went great as usual – [Tivoli Marina] hotel and golf [at Laguna, Old Course, Pinhal] fine.
Weather wasn’t good for the first time in years – not much you can do about that tho!!
Thank again for everything,,

Golf Review - Costa Blanca
It was good that we had the pre-bookings as the courses were very full the whole week. Additionally we played El Plantio the day we arrived, and La Finca on Saturday (someone cancelled and we were lucky to get early enough teetime).
The priority order:
1. Las Colinas – very nice facilities, course was in a great condition and fun to play
2. La Finca – great course, facilities were ok but e.g. many toilets were out of order and dressing rooms were not that nice. Price level (food and beer) much higher than in other locations.
3. Villaitana Levante Golf – Great course, for someone playing at the first time a little difficult to find your way around the course as many signs had fallen down and you didn’t know which way they were pointing…
4. Font del Llop- too windy during that week and fairways were a bit hard and dry, good service
5. El Plantio – very relaxed and a little rough “country like” course, too many Finns and Swedes :-), good apartment
Overall very satisfied!

Vilamoura, Algarve Golf Holiday
thanks for asking but as always everything was very well organized, the [Vila Gale Ampalius] hotel and courses [Vale do Lobo Ocean, Vilasol, Pinhal, Old Course] were all as to be expected, no surprises after all these years, there is nothing to be disappointed about.
Thanks,
Greg, UK, March 2014

Costa del Sol Golf Holiday
Our holidays in Lauro and in La Cala was good. Everything was as we expected. The service was perfect in both places. The rooms were fine and clean. The breakfast were ok, but in La Cala it was excellent , so good! Thank you for your effort for us! And the golf timetable was very perfect for us. Golf courses were very good as well!
We like to continue next year playing golf in Spain,
yours

Tenerife Golf Holiday
everything went well.
[Suite Villa Maria] Hotel was very good - clean, spacious room with nice view (next time we ask for view on the golf course:), very good breakfast, heated swimming pool. If something to improve - wifi in the room and food at the bar.
In terms of golf courses - Costa Adeje was fabulous, Las Americas quite good, Golf de Sur below expectation, Amarilla we did not play because we were told it is worse Golf de Sur therefore we book Costa Adeje again.
We did one day tour around the island and it was worth to go.
In general we were very happy there. Thanks,

Golf at Penha Longa, Sintra, Portugal
Mike and I returned from our trip to Portugal on Sunday and I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all your help in arranging the golf experience at Penha Longa.
I accompanied Mike on the round and it was a fabulous experience and gorgeous weather, so all in all, a great day. The club and buggy hire was seamless too.
I would be very happy to recommend your services at any time.
Thanks again and especially for swapping my booking.

Golf in Gran Canaria
Just back from a lovely week at Gran Canaria
Just for your info we were robbed and lost all our belongings as passports and credit cards and could borrow some money from the hotel manager.
But due to your vouchers we were able to at least to enjoy these days and forget the problems!

Golf in Gran Canaria
our Golf Holidays were great. All bookings were perfect and the golf Clubs had got the right informations. We loved Anfi Tauro and Meloneras. Unfortunately we could not walk Anfi, because there is a policy to hire a cart (40 € very expensive!!!)
We recommend your Service and in the future we will book again with you.
Kind regards

Golf in Cran Canaria
Thanks for asking - all went as planned. A few notes regarding golf courses:
El Cortijo
- maybe the worst in GC
- not in good shape
- bad weather (typical for northern GC)
Real Club
- nice scenery and clubhouse; impressive history
- course only average
- bad weather, see above
Maspalomas
- very crowded
- not very nice course
We played also:
Anfi Tauro
- by far the best (and most expensive) course in GC
Meloneras
- good course, no 2 in GC
- very nice scenery
Salobre Golf Sur
- nice scenery and layout
- decent course
It was surprising how much the weather varies between north and south, especially at this time of year. It makes sense to stay in the south.

Group's Tenerife Golf holiday
Everything was ok
[H10 Las Palmeras] Hotel was a good standard,
[Las Americas] Golf course was 1st class
One minor issue was the taxi back from course was a fair bit late but they did turn up
So all in all a good trip

Golf Holiday to Barcelo Montecastillo, Costa de la Luz, Spain
I was happy with my vacation. Okei, the new thing there that you need to use buggy when you start before 11 AM is not so nice. But this time it did not felt so bad because I had some problems and could not walk every day. But normally I like to walk.
The rooms have be renewed with good taste as also the restaurant is renewed. Both were better than previously. And one thing about the restaurant. I have visited some other hotels with half board in Spain also. And have been thinking what is different in Montecastillo i.e. what is the thing why I feel there is more quality in Montecastillo restaurant. Now I found it out. All the foods, vegetables, meats etc are served in the take-away table separately in quite small dishes. Nothing is mixed together. Even all the salad things are separately. You can make the selection just according you like. And what is best. The cook comes very often to take away the dish when it still is more than half and he replaces it with a new dish with full of nicely adjusted food. The thing is they replace the dish and not add something there. It always gives you the impression all the food is ready made and fresh even if you come later to eat. In other places when you come late all the dishes are half empty or near empty and do not look nice. I hope you understand what I mean.
The course was in good condition because it has not been raining a lot there. Previous times I have been there the course has been a little wet and even muddy in some places but not now.
Best wishes for 2014
Harri, Finland, November-December 2014

Golf Holiday to Tenerife
We had a good holiday, thank you. The [Costa Adeje] golf course was in excellent condition and everything was perfectly organised.
The [H10 Costa Adeje Pallace] hotel was OK. Unfortunately the animation often didn’t take place during the day (aerobics etc) but that was because the guests were lazy. Lots on all inclusive only interested in drinking and roasting! The lobby has an unpleasant stuffy smell. I was pleased we only booked B&B because the dining room is enourmous.
I would be interested to book again with you in the future.
Best regards
Clair, Switzerland, November 2013

Golf on Buenavista and Real Tenerife, Tenerife
all was fine except weather during the last day we played, there started a thunderstorm and heavy raining at hole 15. Thanks for your care.
Wishing to you Happy New Year

Golf in Gran Canaria
We had some great golfdays in Gran Canaria.
[Anfi] Tauro and Salobre south was two very great courses we liked very much.
Salobre was at decent course, but nothing more than that.
We are talking of coming back next year.
We have not decided on which courses we want to play, but Tauro will be one of them!
Pål, Norway, November 2013

Golf in Gran Canaria
Cordialement.

Golf holiday to Algarve, Portugal
Thanks for Your arrangements, all was as agreed in advance :-)
Weather was not the best, but it is thing that You can not arrange :-)
Golf course was in very good conditions, staff there was polite and organizational skills for arrangements was very good.
About Hotel.
There was four stars for [Pestana Delfim] Hotel, but I would say that it was between two and three, it had seen its best days earlier.
But if I look price and what we got, I think that it was very good deal for us who played golf and quite good for ladies who didn’t play.
Breakfast and lunch/dinner was enough good and lunch/dinner was quite different in every day that You didn’t tire of them.
Most of staff was very polite, only one or two waiters was tired of their job.
There was lot of room in hotel, because guests was so few and that was good for us, there was no queues anywhere.
We got our room from eight floor from same corridor and with sea view, rooms where good and cleaner done good job every day.
Bad thing was that warm water was brown!!
Sauna and Jacuzzi was very so untidy that we would never use them.
In the gym was good units, but the air in gym and everywhere in that floor was very fusty .
Shuttles to [Gramacho, Pinta, Alto, Silves] Golf courses was arranged but there was only two time to courses and two back to hotel and it was not so comfortable that we have used, so we use our own car few times even we had bought shuttles.
But overall Hotel and golf was worth of money.
Many thanks and hopefully You can arrange later better experiences for us, maybe in Spain near Malaga/Alicante where weather will be more sunny. Other places will be Italy (near Rome) or Belek in Turkey where we visit, almost every April and October/November.

Golf in Vale do Lobo, Algarve
The golf holiday was excellent, unfortunately my golf however wasn’t so good!
The [Vale do Lobo Royal and Ocean] courses were in very good condition although being the first tee time each morning, we were often playing ahead of the green keepers so the greens were wet and slow.
Thank you for your assistance in organising the golf – the service was excellent.
Kind regards

Foursomes golf holiday to Algarve, Portugal
The golf holiday went well on the whole. The [Dona Filipa] hotel was as good as ever and quality of courses [Vale do Lobo, San Lorenzo, Pinheiros Altos] also. main problem was courses very crowded and poorly marshalled so rounds took over 4.5 hours on average. On one or two of the days we didnt try to make the afternoon tee off as a result cos would have been too rushed.
Can't remember taxis cost offhand but somewhere en region of euro 25 rings a bell.
Hope that helps

Golf Society's Holiday to Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain
Fantastic week. Thank you for all your help.
Hotel rooms, food, [at Sol Pelicanos Ocas] very good and excellent value.
Golf courses Alicante and Levante very good. Poniente a most excellent short course challenge, recommend it to any tour.
Bonalba I'm sure should be very good, but had been over watered and was soaking. Mud on balls, plugging in fairways.
It just made us all evenly rubbish!
Transport company were excellent.
As usual a good time was had by all.
Thanks very much and no doubt I'll be back on behalf of my lunatic society.
Cheers

Group's Golf Holiday to Fuerteventura
We had a great time thanks, my only slight criticisms were the food in the evening at the Elba Sara was not as good as last year and we ate out a few times as a result. Breakfast was fine but evening meal not so good. Regarding the [Fuerteventura] golf course, the greens and bunkers were not in very good condition, but the fairways were good and the course was very quiet on 3 of the 4 days we played. If we went to Fuerteventura again we would either book the Elba Sara on bed and breakfast only, or try a different hotel. The hotel is very clean though and the location is excellent.
We could not fault at all the service provided by your good self and Golf Sun Holidays though Carol. Everything went very smoothly, no problems at all, so thanks very much for that and hope to be in touch again next year to arrange another trip!
All the best and thanks again,
John, U.K., September 2013

Group's Golf in Costa del Sol
Everything ok.
Calanova not that impressive regarding greens and accommodation. Some nice holes however. We had a drunk party of golfers in front of us messing up the greens with their shoes. Atalaya ok and Quinta also of course.
Overal great price/value

Group's Golf in Costa Blanca, Spain
We had a great time thank you.
All the courses were in tip-top condition. Greens were receptive but medium paced and disease free. All the layouts were great.
Villaitana. A firm favourite for my group. The more open of the courses but varied and interesting.
La Sella. Day 1 Played the original back 9 and the new 9. New 9 is very different to the other two but good fun.
El Bosque. Fabulous course. Great layout that needs to be played a few times. We were well looked after. Members had flooded the tee but they ensured we kept to our allotted time. Nice club house. Lots of unsold property lining the fairways which was a little sad but no issues with the course itself. Back six particularly tricky. Well designed.
La Sella - day 2. Played the original 18. Toughest opening of all the courses. Front 9 is really hard to score well on. Lots to trip you up. Back 9 has more scoring opportunities (I came back in 39) but still needs thinking about.
We will be back put next year. Probably with 8 again but maybe in November (trying to avoid the Gota Fria) I think we will substitute one day on La Sella with a day in Alicante. Probably San Juan.
Thanks for all your help organising
Kind regards.

Foursomes Golf Holiday to Florida
Back from Florida since last saturday, we're wrecked but great time was had, you did a great job again & me & the rest of the guys like to thank you for a job well done. TPC Sawgrass was amazing, we played an extra course in Marsh Landing (a great course) in Ponte Vedra, The King & Bear, Slammers & Squire were both great courses, Bay Hill we played twice & it was fantastic (Not as good as Sawgrass though) both hotels [Marriott Sawgrass and Bay Hill Club & Lodge] were excellent.
Thanks Again

Golf holiday to Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain
All very good thanks, [H10 Andalucia Plaza] hotel and golf courses were all very good, nice locations and exactly what we wanted/expected. If I had to order the courses in terms of quality/challenge/standard of greens/tees etc I’d say Marbella Club, Marbella GCC, Los Naranjos.
Thanks again,

Golf in Tenerife
The holiday went very well thankyou. Golf and weather fantastic.
I had played Las Americas and Adeje before, so knew what to expect. Condition of both courses was excellent and pace of play very quick as the courses were almost empty!
Amarilla was not quite up to the same standard as the other two, however, I had expected this as it was reflected in the price. To be fair though, the course was in excellent condition, with a couple of stand out holes, and it was still a very enjoyable day. I would rate this as considerably better than Golf de Sur which I played on my last visit to Tenerife.
All of your bookings were spot on and I had no issues on arrival at any of the courses.
Many Thanks

Golf Holiday to Alicante, Spain
Only good and positive appréciations.
[Husa Alicante] Hôtel really fine, helpful and very polite employees. Great choice for breakfast, room service perfect, clean room,
Every good welcome at the [Alicante] golf club, well organised. And bug.
Only bugs i had came from my side due to my sby tickets and full flights!
I'd like to try Gran Canaria next trip, Williams lettres you know.
In the meantime, I advertise your organisation around me.
Best regards.

Foursomes Golf Holiday to Costa Calida
We had a very nice stay [at Mar Menor Residences], everything worked out perfect after we figured out the challenges regarding the breakfast.
The breakfast in the clubhouse was a world apart from the restaurant (and not in a good way :-) .)
We took another round on Mar Menor, they had a late day offer with a cheap green fee and buggy.
All in all it is not the last time that we visit Spain for golf and certainly not the last time we booked our travel from you :-)
Best summer wishes

Golf Holiday to Costa Blanca
We had a wonderful holiday. The [Campoamor] Hotel was great. We did wish they had coffee making facilities in the rooms but next time we would take an electric travel kettle.
The courses were great. Especially Campoamor.
Picking the car up was no problem however even though the details said do not pay more insurance they insisted that we would be only covered third party so we did pay extra.
I think next year (or even late September of early October this year) we would like to try the Algarve. Have you any ideas?
Many thanks for your help

all was lovely and smooth with the golf [on Morgado, Pinta, Gramacho, Victoria] thanks. would love to hear of any good deals for next year if there are any available yet.
Kevin, UK, June 2013

Golf on the Costa del Sol
The holiday went very well and all arrangements were super. Calanova was OK but needs a bit of TLC, especially around the greens. La Cala was a challenge with its undulating fairways and long distances between green and tee. The greens had been recently hollowtined so were a bit bumpy. Santana was excellent and by far the best we played, everything was lovely and very scenic. The three courses were all in lovely settings but would not be suitable for anyone who did not want to use a buggy. Car hire was OK but suggest you find a rental company such as Malagacarhire who only charge you for the petrol you use. We had to pay for full tank and return empty but only used quarter of a tank that cost us 96 euro plus tax. The size of vehicle was fine for 4 cases and 2 set of clubs, any more clubs from/to the airport would have been a tight squeeze. Thanks again for all your organisation.
Kindest Regards

4 Rounds of Golf on Tenerife
golf bookings went smoothly, golf del sur greens were perfect, as was
the rest of the course,it was very windy on the day we played which
made it a tad more challenging, las Americas golf was a more relaxed
course, but non the less enjoyable, very pleased with package we
purchased thanks

Group's Golf Holiday to La Zenia Hotel, Costa Blanca, Spain
back in work this morning after a great holiday, best in 13 years, location great, hotel great, [Las Colinas, Mar Menor, Roda, Saurines de la Torre, La Torre] golf courses really enjoyable but 4 out of 5 greens were in poor condition they hadn't come back after being pool forked we probably are going to late in the year ,still it did not take away from our enjoyment .Lads are already talking about next year ,same place but a month earlier so greens are in great condition. We really had a great time and thanks for all your help .

Golf in Algarve
All arrangements worked out fine thank you.
Don't think I would hurry back to that area though. Its quite depressed. Morgado is suffering from a lack of maintenance, becoming a bit rundown. The vistas of half built apartments are not great either.
Palmares was great. Three very good nines and a much better atmosphere.
Next year I'll probably go further East, or maybe back to Spain. A couple of people have recommended Montecastillo.
Might be in touch over the winter, thanks again,
Cormac, Ireland, May 2013

Golf in Algarve, Portugal
All was good with the golf & everything ran like clockwork - all the guys agreed the [Faldo, Victoria, Old, Pinhal] courses were excellent - think Faldo was really enjoyed by most as it is soo different with spectacular views & great facilities.
Pinhal is the one course most at risk for being left out next year as it was only rated good rather than excellent but of course that comes a bit with the price.
Get the feeling that some of the courses have less staff now - guess as a result of the recession and perhaps work with less staff when we are there as we are between seasons.
Generally the golf got tougher as the week went on as the weather deteriorated a bit and the wind became a very significant factor. First few days the temp was good with little wind and you could really score on the courses.
Already been talking about next year and the draft plan is to try and play VDL x3 (Royal / Ocean - assuming the 3 round offer is on), Faldo, O'Connor, Victoria & Old playing one round a day Sat 10th May to Fri 16th May.
Will confirm our plans when I know how many golfers I have!!
Thanks for your help

Tenerife Golf Holiday

Excellent trip again. [H10] Conquistador is a good, central, well-run hotel. Both courses [Costa Adeje, Las Americas] we played were in very good condition, & the deal you got us which included buggy & lunch gave us excellent value. In fact after the meals at Costa Adeje course we didn’t need to have a full meal in the evening.
All-in-all a great trip.
Best Regards,

Golf Group's Trip to Costa del Sol
As always a great trip, a couple of things tough:
[Las Piramides] hotel was only ok, not a 3 star hotel for me
• Taxis were a late few times which caused me angst and in particular I would prefer to have a single bus to take us to each course rather than 2 separate taxis
Chat in September for next years trip!
Stephen, U.K., May 2013

Golf on Portugal's Silver Coast

Everything went smoothly as it does every year thanks. Once again you guys did us proud.
Just a couple of new things that might be of interest
Bom Sucesso now has a restaurant, which seems to have gained a great reputation in a short time. The restaurant’s name is “The Legends”
Royal Obidos is coming along brilliantly. Out of the 3 courses [Bom Sucesso, Royal Obidos and Praia del Rey] we played this was in far better condition than the others. Do get me wrong the others were in good nick, but Royal Obidos is going to be the Jewel in the crown once it has grown in a few more years. The Bar and restaurant there is amazing. It is all Glass from floor to ceiling and looks down on the 2nd nine of the course. We had a brilliant lunch there too.
Hope that is of some help.
Hopefully speak to you in about 9 months to organise next years trip.
Thanks again

Let me shortly say, I will never play it [El Chaparral] again, the conditions was not in top level, and the buggies where not with GPS, as the announcement on their home page.
Los Naranjos is same price level, but big different in course / club level.

Golf holiday to Alicante, Costa Blanca
Both transport and [Husa Alicante and Bonalba Alicante] hotels were very good.
Husa [Alicante] golf was excellent, and Bonalba golf OK. (Greens excellent, fairways not that good, but fair enough)
Thank you for helping us :-)
Kind regards,
Asbjørn, Norway, April 2013

Golf in Costa Blanca
Everything was OK.
We had a little discussion by Bonalba Golf where they tried to tell us that YOU had not booked a buggy. But finally they gave us one and we went up in a four-ball together with two other players from Scotland. It was quite OK.
About the conditions (layout) of the courses we would say that Alenda and Bonalba where standard courses compared to the two other.
Alicante but particularly Font del Llop were more challeging and exiting.
Also on Alicante we went up in a four-ball. This time with two local (spanish) players. This was for us as “first time players” probably a plus because is it rather complicated to find around on this course.
Kind regards
Joern, Denmark, April 2013

Group of 12's Golf Break in Costa Blanca, Spain
[La Finca] Golf course was really excellent - best we've played in Spain
Club house was good value for food and drink too
[La Finca Spa & Golf] Hotel rooms were fantastic - real comfort ..
Hotel food was unfortunately poor. - not great value for €25 when you could get a steak in town for far less ..
Starters / dessert were grand but mains were poor and some not warm .
Transfers were excellent - on time and really comfortable
Overall though an excellent choice for Us

Golf Holiday to Salou, Spain
our holiday went very well, thank you for asking.
We enjoyed a lot to play in courses Bonmont and Lumine Hills, and the Lumine Lakes was fine.
But…
We were very disappointed to the current quality of the hotel Blau Mar. Rooms were OK. The dinner was simply bad; low quality and few selection of different food. Actually some of them were uneatable, especially meat… Breakfast fine :-)
Grades:
Golf: 9+
Hotel+location: 9
Food: 7-
We all would like to thank you to help organize this golf trip. Thank you!

Golf in Costa Blanca, Spain
thank you so much for organizing my golf courses [La Peraleja, El Bosque, Villaitana Levante and Poniente]. all where great bar one , the one i picked Murcia the Seve course was terrible not one blade of grass on fairways and greens where terrible. course looked completely unfinished , so just want to let you know for other golfers. will be booking more courses with you soon, Again thanks
Tony, Ireland, April 2013
P.S for future bookings dont let me book courses that we cant book buggies because one course had no buggies and 3 players could not play. because of this.

Golf Holiday for 4 golfers to Costa Blanca, Spain
I will talk about the journey to the Denia Marriott La Sella. We were fantastic received at the hotel, where everything was ready.
We got our vouchers with the same at the front desk. In the room there was a welcome card, chocolate and fruit.
Every day the room was done nicely and clean, when we came back from our golf adventure. All golf courses (La Sella,Oliva, Villaitana Levante) we played on, we were very kindly received.
On restaurant Montgo food and service were both in the top..
The last day there was a thank you card and a bottle of wine in our rooms.
All in all a great experience, even the weather was excellent 25 degrees c.
Best regards

Thank you everything , [Barcelo Montecastillo] hotel reservation, car hire, tee times [on Montecastillo Golf],were excellent managed by you. We are very pleased to you and will certainly recommend you to all our golf friends.
So thank you once again and hope we’ll deal with you again.

Ps. Only claim was the food in hotel it was far away from the level year before , but this was ofcourse the problem of the hotel.

4 rounds on Costa Adeje Golf Course, Tenerife
Having played there before we found the [Costa Adeje] course in excellent condition and very well managed as it has always been.
The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Whilst the course was busy it was kept moving and the average round was about 4 hours.
I would happily recommend the course to anyone.
Thanks for your help.

Golf on Gran Canaria
We had a very nice holiday. All the courses [Maspalomas, Salobre South, Salobre North, Meloneras, Anfi Tauro] were in good condition. We liked most the Anfi Tauro. It was pretty difficult, but rather short, just like Salobre North. Our "home course" Maspalomas with its club services was cosy.
The transportation did not come so costly, taxi is quite cheap. Altogether about 150€.
Thank you very much for the bookings.

Golf holiday to Vale do Lobo, Algarve, Portugal
The golf courses [Pinheiros Altos, San Lorenzo] were great, [Dona Filipa] hotel was good, we got a service great , rooms are a little dated, but so are some parts of the hotel, although it looks like they are improving areas and there were men working in several areas,The car hire voucher was not clear on what silver cover was, so we had to take out CDW at 30€ per day(€120)

Excellent Golfing in the Costa del Sol
We had some excellent golfing all 5 days [La Cala Europa, Santana, Parador del Golf, El Chaparral, Guadalhorce], and no problems with the practicalities.
We enjoyed all the courses. However the Parador was a bit too noisy, as the wind direction was north, and both incoming and outgoing planes were very close.
We are more or less ready to book another trip in mid-October this year and we will keep Santana and El Chaparral and add one or two new ones.
I will revert with the details in a couple of weeks’ time.
Thanks for your first class services.

Golf Holiday to Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain
We had a fantastic time – [Santa Clara, Santa Maria, Marbella] golf courses lovely, pick-ups great and the [Benabola] apartment and its location was fantastic! Weather not too bad either – considering we were leaving an arctic Ireland.
If I was to make one small complaint the courses were very busy – taking up to 5 hours to complete a round. (Had to forego our transport back to the apartment on day 1 because of the delay in completing our round). I imagine as in Ireland the recession is partly to blame with courses allowing as many as possible out to get revenue in.
Still, it didn’t spoil our enjoyment as we were on holidays and has plenty of time.
Thanks again for organising everything and will be in touch again next year,
Regards,

Barcelo Montecastillo, Costa de la Luz, Spain

Golf Week in Costa Adeje, Tenerife
Everything was fine and well organized. All aspects related to golf [on Las Americas, Costa Adeje, Amarilla, Golf del Sur] were perfect, with the only exception of our playing quality.
The [ H10 Costa Adeje Palace] hotel was very good under most aspects, with food good in quantity and just medium in quality.
The only observation I could make is about the car, for which costs were substantially higher than expected due to various additional costs: insurance, advance payment of a full tank load, debiting a cost for the return of the car in a different airport (Norte instead of Sur), and others. The car had engine problems due to poor maintenance and we were forced to replace it in the middle of the week.
Your assistance was great and we all appreciated it very much.
Kindest regards,

Golf holiday at Melia Villaitana Hotel, Costa Blanca, Spain
Our holiday went without any problems and we have no complaints. All courses [Villaitana Levante, El Plantio, Bonalba, Font del Llop] had some normal wear from the winter. Our day on El Plantio we only remember as very windy resulting in a high score! The rental car was also a nice improvement from last time. Both Villaitana hotel and golf had excellent service and pleasant offers.
Kind regards

Marriott Denia La Sella Golf Package, Costa Blanca, Spain
We will thank you for this arrangement and have no complains except that the menu and the food at the hotel was a bit boring.
All together we are very satisfied and your service and the service at the hotel and the [La Sella] golf course was absolute perfect.

Golf in Gran Canaria
Thanks for the chance to make some comments. The golf at Salobre and Anfi Tauro was fine, no problems whatsoever, but at Meloneras I had some problems. I arrived 10 minutes before my tee-off at the starters hut to find at least 3 flights of 4 players all waiting to tee off. After waiting for at least 15 minutes I was was taken by one of the staff by buggy up to the 2nd tee to join a flight of 3 players as there was no other flights of less than four that I could have joined at that time. I may have had to wait some time to be able to tee off if I had not accepted this solution. It would seem that there booking system is not being run properly.

We were very pleased with the [Pestana Dom João] hotel. Everything was fine.
With the exception of Vila Sol golf course, we already knew all other golf courses [Pinta, Gramacho, Silves, Alto].
We also had luck with the weather, so we really enjoy playing golf.
We already look forward to golf holidays to Algarve next end of January.

Good Golf in Gran Canaria
Holiday went very well and all reservations was ok
Thanks very much for all your help in booking the courses.
Condition of courses was very good
Anfi Tauro buggy was mandatory that was not forecasted but it is a very challenging and spectacular course.
Salobre, Maspalomas and Meloneras was fine and in very good condition
El Cortijo is a good course but close to city with buildings around
Thank you to Golf Sun Holidays and I will contact you for my next trip

January Golf holiday at Barcelo Montecastillo
Ah, Montecastillo! with the weather on our return, it's already becoming a memory! But of a very pleasant nature, I hasten to add. Everything was in fine order, apart from the state of the course, due to the amount of rain that fell immediately prior to, and upon, our arrival: the drainage system used allows for the immediate removal of heavy falls of water through large drains sporadically placed on fairways, but without extensive drainage the remainder of the rainfall simply lies until evaporation, which in winter means a few days trudging through very heavy ground (but it was good to see extensive work on the bunkers on a couple of holes: only another dozen or so holes to go before all are of a proper order!). The hotel had assigned us rooms without a golf course view, but upgraded us without charge when it was pointed out that this was the third year in a row we had been coming, so that was pleasant. The concierge also directed us to a very good tapas bar in Jerez for Saturday night! All in all, a most enjoyable if too brief stay!
So thanks again for your assistance, and please God we might be able to go again next year! Best of luck for the coming year,

Golf on Maspalomas, Meloneras and Salobre courses in Gran Canaria
The golf went great. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived Salobre golf. The condition of the courses was good, and the service we got was very good. Next time I think we will try Salobre north and Tauro aswell. The condition on maspalomas and meloneras was also satisfying.
And there were no problems with our tee times.
So thank you for arranging this for us!

Family Golf Holiday at Husa Alicante Golf Hotel
The stay went very well, the [Alicante] course was in fantastic shape this time.

Golf in Gran Canaria
thanks for your questions.everything was perfect. unbelivable golfcourses (i saw a lot in europe) and nice weather. The people in the clubs were really nice - i didn´t know how nice spanish people can be. ;-) i didn't need the vouchers. it was no problem. everybody was informed that money was paid. thanks a lot for your booking help - it was perfect!

conditions of golf courses:
- anfi tauro: perfect, good condition, not easy but fair to play (we played this course 3 times - our favorite!)
- salobre north: good condition but very difficult. sometimes it was not to made.. and my hcp is 11
- salobre south: a bit easier than north but still spectacular
- meloneras: good condittion, easier to play, the second nine has a very good view to beach and harbour

Golf holiday to Costa de la Luz, Spain
Montecastillo Hotel is OK, the food was good and waiters were very friendly. The golf course was in good condition, in the afternoon I regognised some slow game but you know the [Montecastillo] course is quite challenging for some not so good players. Weather was a bit cold most days specially in the mornings but luckily not any rain. So as a whole I'm very pleased with my golf holiday.

Golf holiday at Marriott La Sella, Denia, Spain
We really enjoyed it. The hotel was fantastic but so quiet - could not understand how they could afford to stay open with so few quests! The course was great also and very accommodating in facilitating requests to alter tee times.

Golf Holiday to Gran Canaria
Well, we was very satisfied with the [Salobre] Villas, they was really like the pictures was showing on internet!!
Equipment was enough, the views was marvellous. if I should say something as is negative was that there was no afternoon-sun on the terrace.... but that you can live with in that temperatures ;)
Re the [Salobre] golf-courses so they were in a good condition, think most of us preferred to play on the south course, which was more a 'normal' course even if the North-course was spectacular with its ravines and also magnificent views.
Also the crew on the golf-course was very service-minded and friendly!
We rented a car and that made it easier and quicker for us to take us to the golf-reception, golf-restaurant and also to the small supermarket as was situated in the area.
Overall was this a fantastic holiday for us with really good golfing and living so we can recomend this place for others!
Understand that the Anfi-course as is situated closer to Puerto Rico has a high reputation - do you have any equal offers for that one?
Most likely will we be back to you and ask for some nice offers for october-november next year as well!
All the best!

Golf holiday to Costa de la Luz, Spain
We have returned from a successful golf holiday. The [Montecastillo] hotel was tidy and comfortable with as always a service minded staff. The food was good, but could be varied somewhat. The hire of car was without any problems. [Montecastillo] golf course is well maintained and we enjoyed the game.
We look forward to return on a later occation.

Golf in Costa de la Luz and Algarve
holiday went very well, thanks very much for all your help in booking the courses.
the courses [Castro Marim, Quinta da Cima, La Moncilla, Costa Esuri West] were all in ok condition, considering the rain we had over the first three days.
the only course that took longer than four hours to play was quinta de cima, but i accept that, as it has a hotel attached and is probably the best layout course of the four we played. so more people play it.
monacilla is a new course and will be good when it settles down. lots of walking between green and next tee.
esuri is in receivership at present, but they are still looking after the course. so still playable at present.
Castro marim had the best greens we played on.
all in all, we had a good break once the weather cheered up.
thanks again for all you help and hopefully we'll do this all again next November.

Golf holiday to Murcia, Spain
We have returned from a great vacation in Spain. Everything was perfect, but the car (it was close to rent-a-wreck but did the job).
The hotel Inter-Continental [Mar Menor] was a treat with great value for the money and the golf courses [Mar Menor, Saurines, Hacinenda Riquelme, La Torre, Alhama and El Valle] were all a pleasant surprise.
We are planning a spring holiday and will contact you for an offer later.
Sigbjørn, Norway, Nov 2012

Golf holiday to Marbella, Spain
We're back to reality, anyway the holiday went very well
The Golf was fantastic with Valderrama being the outstanding course & for golf Enthusiasts (Like us) well worth the price, as for the other courses (San Roque Old & New & La Reserva) all were in great shape & very enjoyable.
Hotel (H10 Andulucia), nice hotel, good clean rooms with great bathroom facilities & the Breakfast was excellent.
Car Hire: we got a C220 Mercedes CDI ordinary car not an Estate, lovely car but too small for four men with luggage & golf bags, but we managed, but we'll be wiser for the future.
Anyway thanks again for your help & I'm sure we'll do business again at some point in the future.

Golf Holiday to Algarve
Holiday was excellent. Hotels just what I wanted. Penina was it`s usual charming self although the golf course was perhaps alittle tired. Monte da Quinta was new to me -- very friendly staff excellent accomodation I would certainly use it again. Golf courses at Q do L and larangal were in excellent condition.
Car hire was good although their policy of giving a full tank and expecting it back empty means that they make a profit on the gas at the customer`s expense particularly as I would do very small mileage.
Thanks for all your help

Golf in Costa Blanca
The trip went well. All the arrangements at the courses were fine. In respect of the conditions I think it's worth bearing in mind that there had been some shocking weather before we arrived and so they were struggling to recover from that but here's my view on each of them.

El Plantio Golf - Absolutely shocking. The greens were terrible. The higher you got around the course the worse they got. Disease ridden and uncut. The area around the driving range was like a rubbish tip. Shame, because the course was laid out well and could be nice. Clearly underinvested. I would have thought that they would get good trade being so close to the airport making them a great first day or last day course. I just think that they're in that downward spiral of not having the money to invest and so having to cut costs to attract people, so they then don't have the money to invest. I would strongly recommend that you steer clients away from here.

Villaitana Levante Golf - Great course, nice clubhouse. Lovely greens. Good reasonably priced food. They had suffered from the storms and most of the sand that should have been in the bunkers had been scooped out and dumped on the fairways by the torrential rain and associated flooding. In fairness they had not had time to get it back together. We ended up behind 16 English guys in buggies who didn't know one end of a golf club from another. First 8 holes took 3 hours and we finished in the dark!!! I would recommend this course to anyone playing a few rounds in the Northern Costa Blanca but if you're feeding back to them they need marshals out there dealing with slow play. There are some tough par threes that can really hold groups up. Oh and we met a nice German fella and his Japanese wife. Got to talk to them a lot as we queued on tees. So every cloud.....

El Saler Golf - Shocking greens again. - Real shame because this is my favourite course of them all. You get to play by the sea and it was a beautiful day. Huge club house. We didn't eat there but the food looked nice. The greens here were not anywhere near as bad as El Plantio they just hadn't been cut properly. This might have just been down to the weather and it's possible they didn't want to get the mowers on them. I'd understand that. Lots of the bunkers were still full of water two days after the rains so it gives an idea as to just how bad the weather was. I'd definitely recommend this course but you need to feed back to them that the greens need to be well maintained.

La Sella golf - Great course, great condition, fabulous greens. Beautiful sand in the bunkers. We ate at the hotel next door because they do Marriott Burgers and great club sandwiches. This was the most up-together of the the courses and no sign of underinvestment because of the recession. A definite for any trip.

Overall we had a great trip. The terrible weather that hit (after wall to wall sunshine during the previous 8 weeks!) just before we arrived meant the courses weren't at their best but on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday we had beautiful sunshine so it could have been much worse.
And if you want to watch the European Ryder Cup squad pull a rabbit out of a hat in a sports bar then Xabia beach is as good a place as any.
I hope this helps. You gave us a great service and I'll definitely use you again.

Golf holiday at Montecastillo Golf Resort
Everything was as good as ever.
Robert, UK, September 2012

Golf in Costa del Sol
The golf was nothing to write home about (my game was well off!) but no issues at all with either of the courses. La Quinta was quiet compared to previous visits and I played on my own (I had expected to be rolled in to a three or four ball), the course was in good nick and I had an untroubled round, with no waiting or delays. Rio Real was also very good. It’s so well established that everything appears to run automatically but it was much busier than LQ and so it is was a slower round. I played with my son, on a Saturday, and we did have to wait on the tee box quite a bit due to some ‘traffic’ on the course – but nothing that was inappropriate, or beyond what we could expect. Again, the course was in good nick.
Thanks for fixing me up with tee times at such short notice, I’ll be in contact in the future when I’m looking for some more sunshine golf.
John, UK, September 2012

Golf holiday to Montecastillo Golf Resort
Over the holiday went very well, the hotel was good but not 5* as advertised probably 3 at best, and this was the feeling of all we met there but we knew this as friends had been there.
Food and service was good no complaints.
Golf
Great layout but poorly maintained, greens bumpy, ball bouncing out of bunkers sand so compacted. In the 10 days we were there very little maintenance being done to the course.
Played one day with people on there 7th trip to montecastillo who said they won't be back due to the course which in there opinion is going down hill. Friends of mine are just back from villamora talking about the great condition of the courses pity I can't say the same.
Car hire
If you we're ever to set me up with that company again I would cancel the whole holiday.
Our car was not ready or was given to someone else so big panic at desk to get us a car, girl abrupt and rude we felt.
Eventually they got us a car which I didn't like the look off as it was old badly scratched smelly inside radio didn't work just in poor condition I thought, not what you would normally get from car hire company's . But was told take it or leave it.
To make a long story short the car broke down the day before we were due to leave, it was picked up from the hotel thanks to the hotel manager and after many phone calls to the hire company, and we were told to get a taxi to Malaga airport which we worried who would pay for this. On getting to the hire company they did pay, we had left golf bag covers in the car as it was taken from the hotel when we were on the golf course, we asked them to return them to the golf club hire company 200yards from there office but not their problem we were told so that cost us 30 euro, We were told to go.no apology about the car we left feeling it was our fault the car broke down. But one thing sticks in my head about this the Hotel Manager kept saying you used a very bad car hire company.
I didn't mean to go on you might think we had a poor holiday but we didn't it was very good and we would book with you again, probably book the car hire myself.
Michael, UK, September 2012

Holiday in Tenerife
We were impressed with the hotel [H10 Big Sur]. The service was excellent, the room was really nicely decorated, the breakfast was great ... we really couldn't fault anything. The location was very good as we were able to walk to different restaurants every night. Some days as there was no free loungers by the pool, we would go to nearby beaches. We also took a trip to Siam Park which was great fun.
We had no problems with the car hire. Again the service was very good at both arrival and departure. We took full insurance so although the car looked like it had been in a few scrapes, we didn't have to worry about being blamed for the scratches and dents.

Golf in Costa Blanca
Our experience of booking Golf Tee Times in Costa Blanca with Golf Sun Holidays has been exceptional. For the past three years we have booked our annual pilgrimage and on each occasion the customer service received has been world class. Within hours of sending the request form I had received confirmation from Dan and even when we mess him around with different tee times it is done without any problem. Thank You Golf Sun Holidays for making our experience stress free. Now bring on the golf…..

Golf in Costa del Sol
Had a great time. Torrequebrada was our favourite.
Santa Clara was nice but not in great condition, some of the fairways were fairly burnt and some weeds were growing in the bunkers which was not good. Other than that everything was great.

I will like to thank you for a fantastic stay on Barcelo Montecastillo Resort. We were all very pleased with both the facilities and the service from the staff. Golf in Costa del Sol
Thanks for organising the golf for us. Everything went well. We didn't actually get out on Aloha until 14:20 but it was ok.
For reference in terms of courses Aloha, Los Naranjos and Santana were good courses. La Cala is just ok and Marbella golf and country club is a very poor golf course, not to be recommended. However, it was a great trip and thanks again. Will be in touch again when we are going on our next trip.
Tim, Ireland, June 2012

Golf in Algarve
Thanks for your mail and for sorting the golf for us - we had an excellent time.
I think all of the courses were in very good condition - probably benefitting from slightly less traffic.
Courses themselves didn't seem as busy as previous years. You could tell from the amount of people on the range at both Victoria & Old Course that it was quieter. Very much quieter in Victoria clubhouse than usual. Have to say made it a nicer experience, although would struggle to see how Victoria is making money based on what we saw the two days were there.
It may be that the really hot weather (even the locals said it was stupidly hot - mid 90s most days when we were there) stopped any gaps being filled that would normally have done so.
Golf at Vale do Lobo was still busy, particularly in the mornings - my only golfing complaint (and others in our group shared this) is that there is far too much sand in the bunkers at VDL - with it being windy there was a very high chance of plugging when playing holes into the wind - even fairway bunkers! Not just a slightly fried egg lie, but almost buried.
As ever all of the staff at the various courses were very courteous and welcoming.
Generally Vilamoura resort was not as busy, but not quiet - one thing noticeable was that most of the people there were british / irish - normally it is dominated by brits but with a reasonable spread of other nationalities but this year seemed to be almost exclusively brits.
Anyway everyone really enjoyed the trip and we had two new boys this year - already started planning next year - probably will miss out on VDL and maybe add a different course. Also we will not be playing 36 on any days - it was a really tough day when we did that this year, mostly due to the heat.
Thanks again

Golf holiday in Costa del Sol
Holiday went very well. Transport to and from airport very good. They were waiting for us at the airport and turned up early when we came home. The [Atalaya Park] hotel laid on transport at various times of the day to and from the [Atalaya Golf] courses.
The hotel was good and food good too. The only gripe if you can call it a gripe, is that the all inclusive finished when you gave room keys back, which was 12 o'clock. This has never happened at other hotels where I have had late night flights.
John, England, May 2012

Golf on Portugal's Silver Coast
Firstly, I just wanted to thank you for booking everything for the break I came back from yesterday. We had a great time, weather was brilliant and the golf courses great, although our golf was bordering on the average.
I thought I would get in touch to let you know, they have a new gem of a course in the area. Royal Obidos is I am sure going to become the premier golf course in the area, I have no doubt about it. Although it only opened early this year the fairways and greens play like they have been in for years. The design of the course is one of the best, if not the best I have ever seen, and even though I say it myself I have been lucky enough to play over a lot of Europe, the Carribean, and Florida, Mrytle Beach and Arizona, and in my mind I have never played on such a good design. On top of the design, the Club House overlooks the course and sea from a raised position and has its entire length a glass window looking out, it is a spine tingling view. MY friends who were with me have played golf all round the world and were all stunned by the whole experience. With 5 tees it can be played from anywhere from 5500 - 7300 yards and has 2 or 3 of the best holes I can ever remember playing.
I wasn't sure you would have much info on the place , so thought I would write, I would recommend it to any golfer. However, for the lower handicapper it is definitely far more of a challenge than either Bom Successo or Praia De Rey (and i like both of those) already, and if they plant the trees they say they are going to, it will get even better. The staff there are also brilliant, so helpful, and in case you wanted to know the hire clubs are all top of the range Titliest clubs. Even if I hadn't had known it was a Seve designed course, you can see his influence in the design, the bunkering and water is very thoughtful with water playing an integral part in at least 9 holes, with 3-4 where water is in play for the tee shot all the way to the approach to the green.

Golf holiday to Gran Canaria
We have just returned form Gran Canaria after our holiday and would like to thank you for putting it all together for us. We had a wonderful time and the weather, hotel and golf were great. The Sheraton [Salobre] was a superb hotel and the golf courser\s were is really good shape, especially the Meloneras course which was world class. If you arrange further trips for people to Gran Canaria we fully recommend the hotal and that particular course. Once again many thanks and you are sure that we will continue to book our golf geteways with you.

Golf in Tenerife
Our golf / time in Tenerife was quite nice.
The courses were in quite good condition. [Costa] Adeje and Las Americas were clearly the best. Golf del Sur not as good but OK (we had a rainy day so that also influenced the play). In Golf del Sur they do not have any stroke savers and no GPS in buggies so you pretty much "play in the dark" if you do not know the course --> and this is never so nice.
Amarilla was of the lowest profile of these courses - some greens were not in good condition. They had anyway a stroke saver which made life easier.
We ended up in playing Las Americas twice - it was nice and very close to our hotel.

Golf Holiday in Tenerife
We had a very enjoyable trip & many thanks for the assistance in booking same.
Both courses [Las Americas and Costa Adeje] were in good condition with the las Americas staff being very friendly & welcoming .
The club hire however was disappointing as limited availability at the times when we arrived so would mention that to people in future. We would most definately bring our own on our return.
We will most definatley book through yourselves on our return as the service was excellent.

Golf holiday to Pestana Alvor Park
There were some problems with finding the car hire company, but that was due to rebuilding of the airport. Nothing you could have done about that. We really enjoyed our week in Alvor, and we are very pleased with your arrangements.

Group Golf holiday to Gran Canaria
We are back from travel already. I would like to thank you for arrangement of the travel as well as of tee times reservations. Everything has worked perfectly. The only thing should be changed: next time we will postpone departure time from golf course, cause our 3rd flight do not have sufficient time for "relax" after game ?
Once we are back in Canaria Islands we will definitely contact you again

Golf holiday to Costa del Sol
Anyway, the holiday went great, helped by the excellent weather. The [Fuerte Marbella] hotel, there was no complaints by anyone, nice spacious/clean rooms, comfy beds & a great shower, Breakfast was excellent, plus all the staff were very helpful & friendly(the Receptionists, the Breakfast staff & Cleaning staff), all in all everything went off well regarding hotel, I'd Highly recommend it.
As for the Courses, The San Roques, Finca Cortesin & La Reserva apart from being good courses, were all in fabulous condition.
As for Valle Romano; nice course, but if you suffer from vertigo (which one of our lads does, but he still has no problem with flying, LOL) don't play it, as a few of the holes you require a good head for heights.
Hopefully we'll do business again.

Golf in Costa Blanca
Just thought I'd give you some feedback on the courses.

Las Ramblas - Impossible to play! On the other courses we were all scoring between 25 and 35 points but 19 was the winning score. Very narrow fairways coupled with dry conditions means that it's for low handicappers only.

Mosa Trajectum - A real shame because this was probably had the potential to be a really good course. The problem seems to be that they've run out of money. The Olive course has been closed completely and the other two courses are barely maintained. Most of the water features have been drained and we were the only people on the course all day.

La Peraleja - We all really enjoyed the course. Well maintained, very long and a great price. Would recommend this to anyone.

Roda - Probably the best maintained of all the courses we played. Very busy and as such the only gripe was a 5 hour round. Maybe the fact that the other courses were so quiet compounded this. Would definately return though.

Thanks for your help again and I'll be in touch again later this year.

We had a wonderful time in Spain and are already looking for a return trip! Thank you for the newsletter. We hope to visit Guadalmina again in the autumn so perhaps if I send you some dates you could let me know of the availability. We are fairly flexible in Oct/Nov.

Golf holiday to Gran Canaria
Thanks for following up on our trip. It went very well and I believe we were all happy for a well organised trip. But, as you know there are always room for improvements.
First of all let me confirm your assessment of the breakfast at H10 Maspalomas. You said it was better than at IFA Faro Hotel (I thought that was not possible), and it was.
There were a few complaints from some of the team that the hotel did not have wifi in the rooms and that it was a bit long to walk to the restaurants.
There was only one thing that created a bit of fuzz and annoyance. The bus did not show up on the morning of the 4. February, and despite having called the contact person (Nicole) at Ultramar and being promised it was just around the corner it never materialised. We had to order taxis in a hurry to get to the Golf Course in time for tee-off.
Otherwise, we experience that some of the pick-up times in the morning and after the golf may be changed for the next time.
All in all we are happy and all agreed we had a great time.
Thanks for your help once again, and I guess I will be in contact with you again towards the end of the year to plan next year trip.
Cheers and have a great day :-)
